A MAN contacted the police himself after overturning his car while almost double the legal alcohol limit for drivers, a court heard.

Adam Boon, 22, of Fairfoot Road, London, was disqualified from driving for 18 months by Kendal magistrates.

South Lakeland Magistrates' Court heard that Boon had recently moved to Cumbria and was driving home from a staff leaving party when he crashed into a drystone wall at Cark-in-Cartmel.

He was found to have 150 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.
