A KENDAL man was handed a suspended prison sentence by magistrates after pleading guilty to harassing his estranged wife.
A court heard that Paul Chorley, 47, of Whinfell Drive, had been issued with a restraining order not to contact Keeley Ann Chorley, which lasted until March of this year.
John Appleby, prosecuting, said that as soon as the order finished Chorley began texting her again.
On September 21, Mrs Chorley saw him drive past her house, and later that night he sent her numerous texts, some of which “she interpreted as quite offensive”.
As well as the suspended sentence, Chorley was sentenced to a supervision order of 36 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
