A GROUP of three walkers had to call for help after becoming stuck on a Lake District crag.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 1.44pm on Saturday (December 27) when the trio got stuck on Barf, just below Slape Crag, near Bassenthwaite leg.

The team dispatched a a group in a Land Rover to access from Whinlatter Forest while two team members acted as spotters from Thornthwaite.

The group was located and the walkers were roped up "the awkward step" on Slape Crag before being assisted to the footpath that runs round the forest.

The two-and-a-half operation involved 15 members.
