MORE TOP STORIES:

Mr Abraham, 38, of Newark, documented England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike, through the course of a year, featuring all those who live, work, care and 'play' around the 3,209ft peak.

The documentary has already wow audiences - winning an award for excellence from the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild.

Now the abridged version of filmmaker Terry Abraham’s labour of love, which he started to make in December 2012, will hit screens in the New Year.

Terry said: "One wild camp that sticks in my mind was near Crinkle Crags, at the head of the Lake District’s, Langdale Valley. Exhausted after a 12-mile hike I happened upon a secluded spot that overlooked Great Moss, Eskdale, and the Duddon Valley.

"I watched the sun slowly go down over the Isle of Man as the Scafells’ became crags of fire, morphing into what appeared to be molten lava. It was truly breathtaking.’’

Terry added:"This film isn’t just a visual extravaganza covering England’s highest peak through the seasons, from all angles, up close and afar, night and day – It’s also about the people who enjoy it."

From farmers to climbers, to the Three Peaks Challengers, the film gives the viewer the chance to meet all of these folk and follows those who live, work and care for the area.’’

Richard Greenwood , Cumbria Tourism’s Operations Manager, said: "It’s a real coup for Terry having his film shown on BBC4 – from a destination point of view we hope that this national screening will hopefully inspire people and show the true beauty of this iconic Cumbrian Fell and England’s highest peak.

"One thing I can guarantee is that Terry’s film will convey a real sense of drama, a film that will make every Cumbrian proud.’’ For a sneak peak view http://youtu.be/cPYLkN-K3Bs
