A YELLOW warning for snow and ice has been issued for Cumbria.
The Met Office warning remains in place till 12pm today (January 17).
A northwesterly airflow is expected to bring frequent showers which may at times be heavy with a mixture of hail, sleet and snow.
Snow is expected to accumulate on hills and levels higher than 300m, with some mounting up to 2-6cm in localised falls at low levels.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: "The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel."
