A MAN was fined for criminal damage after a resident of Windermere Road, Kendal, saw him from her window hammering on the bonnet of her car with his fist.

Daniel Braithwaite, 25, of Lord Street, Dalton-in-Furness, pleaded guilty to the offence although he said he had been drunk at the time and could not remember what happened.

He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs, a £20 victim surcharge and £50 compensation for the cost of repairing the car.
