A NEW lunch club in Milnthorpe featuring indoor bowling as the after-dinner entertainment is appealing for volunteers.
The club meets every Thursday from 12noon to 4pm at Christ the King Hall on Haverflatts Lane.
Organiser Eileen Marr said: "I set it up because I have worked with elderly people from Milnthorpe and the surrounding villages.
"I've found, too often, a lot of people alone and at times unable to afford days out.
"We want to create somewhere people can have a nice time, and feel relaxed and comfortable."
The club is supported by local businessman John Morphet, who has offered to provide equipment.
Eileen is appealing for any retired chefs or willing cooks who could spare a few hours a month to contact her on 07845214619.
