MEMBERS of Grange Youth Theatre Group took their Christmas performance of the pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty' to JIGSAW Cumbria's Children's Hospice at Carlisle for the young patients, their families and the staff to enjoy.
The group, part of Grange Amateur Operatics Society, went from performing on stage to putting on the pantomime for around 30 people in a day service room at the hospice.
Leck’s Travel at Backbarrow provided a coach, and driver, to transport the children, helpers, scenery and props to Carlisle, free-of-charge.
During their performance of the pantomime in Grange, the children did a bucket collection and raised £215. Last year following the production of the 'Wizard of Oz.' they presented the charity with a cheque for £2,000.
The money raised has enabled the hospice to undertake three brand new outreach projects including allowing nurses to take many of the services provided at JIGSAW out into the community. It has also helped pay for a dedicated outreach worker and staff at the hospice have also been able to arrange creative and activity workshops.
