A BUSINESSMAN from Bishop Thornton has been announced as UKIP’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Skipton & Ripon that covers the Ingleton and Bentham areas.
Alan Henderson has been involved in the party’s Harrogate and Knaresborough Branch for 14 months and came second in Harrogate Borough Council district elections in May.
The 57-year-old said he is “looking forward to having the opportunity to meet with each and every voter in the constituency."
He added: “I am hoping to take part in hustings meetings throughout the area when I would like to take the opportunity to debate some of the key subjects.
"I would also like to make clear to the schools and colleges what it is that UKIP (and I) stand for and just as importantly what I do not support."
