CUMBRIA Police and partner agencies have organised an event which is designed to encourage reporting of disability hate crime.
The ‘Know Your Criminal Justice Day’ takes place in Carlisle on Friday (Jan 30). The Crown Prosecution Service in the North West is working in partnership with People First, Court Services and Cumbria Constabulary and have organised the event to give an opportunity for those with learning disabilities to become more familiar with the criminal justice system. The aim is to encourage more people to come forward and report disability hate crimes committed against them. Hate crime can be reported online at www.cumbria.police.uk or by visiting one of the 49 Hate Incident Reporting Centres located throughout the county.
