THE number of people killed on Cumbria's roads in 2014 was the lowest in five years, new figures show.
Figures released by the Cumbria Road Safety Partnership show 26 people were killed on the county’s roads last year - the lowest since 2009.
There were also fewer serious injuries on the county's roads last year with 205 in 2014 compared to 212 the previous year.
In 2006, 59 people were killed on Cumbria's roads - the highest in the last decade.
