WESTMORLAND Red Squirrels has been awarded a £3,000 grant for its latest Rusland's Reds Pilot project.
The funds are from train company First TransPennine Express (FTPE), and the Forestry Commission, which have joined forces to help biodiversity projects in and around Cumbria.
The grant will fund cameras and grey squirrel traps to identify and monitor grey squirrel control, which will give the reds more space to survive and thrive.
