WORLD famous mountain biker, skier, snowboarder and motocross rider, Shaun 'Napalm' Palmer landed at Wheelbase in Staveley on Friday along with colleagues from Californian mountain bike manufacturer Intense Cycles.
Shaun, 46, joined 90 avid fans outside the store for a snowy ride over Garburn Pass, Kentmere, followed by a humorous question and answer session hosted by Ed Oxley in a packed Hawkshead Brewery Beer Hall.
Known as one of the forefathers of extreme sport, Shaun was the highest paid mountain biker of the 1990’s with a reported $300,000 contract with Specialized. He has a string of World Cup wins to his name in skiing, snowboard and mountain bike downhill and 4X racing, plus in 2000 we won the Pikes Peak Hill Climb auto race, which was recently made famous by Guy Martin.
