A 14-YEAR-old girl was airlifted to hospital after suffering a locked hip joint while on a school caving trip to the Yorkshire Dales yesterday (Saturday).
The novice caver suffered a recurrence of the painful condition while coming out of Lower Long Churn Cave, near Selside.
The Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) was called out at 2.45pm and administered pain relief.
CRO members then stretchered her to a team vehicle to shelter, until an air ambulance arrived to fly her to hospital.
