SIX cows, some heavily pregnant, have been stolen from a Dent farm in an overnight raid.

Police were called to Moser Hill Farm after farmer, Tony Hunter, reported four pregnant Limousin cows and two Limousin calves had been taken.

It is believed the thieves untethered the cattle before leading them into a large vehicle and making off.

The incident, which took place between 6.30pm on Sunday, January 25, and 7.30am on Monday, January 26, is not the first time Mr Hunter's cattle have been stolen.

In 2013 the Gazette reported a similar incident at Moser Hill Farm where six cattle, some heavily pregnant and worth a total of £6,000, were taken in a well-organised overnight raid which left the farmer 'absolutely devastated'.
