A BODY found at Penrith Beacon has been identified as missing Caspar Capel, 43.

Police have confirmed the man was found at Beacon Edge, at the top of Fell Lane Mr Capel, of Lowther Street, Carlisle, was last seen on January 14.

The 43-year-old's Kirkby Stephen parents had urged communities to keep an eye out for their son following his disappearance.

Cumbria police said there were no suspicious circumstances at this time and details had been passed to the coroner.

The force said it would like to thank the local mountain rescue teams involved in the search for Mr Capel, including Penrith Mountain Rescue, Kendal Mountain Rescue, Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue, and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue.
