COLOURFUL art by college students has been unveiled at five rail stations on the Furness Line.
Sixteen new panels have been installed at Silverdale, Arnside, Kents Bank, Cark and Ulverston stations
The artworks have all been designed by students from Furness College in Barrow and Lancaster & Morecambe College, and sponsored by local businesses.
In total, 65 works of art have been sponsored and exhibited at stations along the Furness Line in the last four years, including the stations at Carnforth and Barrow.
Jim Trotman, Community Rail Partnership Officer, said: “A similar scheme has also taken place on the Lakes Line between Oxenholme and Windermere and that has resulted in an additional 47 works of art being displayed at those stations.
“This makes a grand total of 112 works of art that both brighten up the stations and encourage passengers to visit the businesses of some of the sponsors.”
