THE Gold Rill Hotel at Grasmere has been bought by husband-and-wife hoteliers from Lytham St Annes.

The hotel, which has 25 rooms and a further seven rooms in a nearby lodge, was sold by Paul and Catherine Jewsbury.

The buyers, Richard and Mandy Webb, are owners of The Grand and Grand 22 hotels in Lytham.

The couple have taken on all 30 staff.

Mr Webb said: "The Gold Rill is situated in a fabulous area nestled in the Lakeland fells so is a popular retreat for tourists and walkers.

"We plan on taking time to get to know the hotel, its staff and customers before we make any changes but we expect to carry out some refurbishment and redecoration in the near future."
