PANCAKE flipping filled the streets of Troutbeck village on Shrove Tuesday as the traditional races caused the usual stir.
Men, women and children participated in the races from High Fold Square and the hotels race was another hotly contested affair.
A new trophy was presented to the winner of the hotels race - Nathan Wishman of The Mortal Man Hotel - as the old one was destroyed in the fire at The Queen's Head last June.
The prize winners were: Flipping and Running: Ladies: 1 Katie Duncker, 2 Jill Tinsdale; Men:1 Lewis Baxter, 2 Spider Tinsdale; Girls: 1 Imogen Robinson, 2 Rose Hudson; Boys: 1 Liam Pinder, 2 Jack Butterfield; Toddlers: 1 Josh Storey, 2 Charlotte Smith. Tossing (flips per minute): Girls: 1 Karin Dixon (78), 2 Natalie Pinder (62); Boys: 1 Jack Butterfield (89), Kieran Tinsdeall (81); Ladies: 1 Alison Amphlett (100), 2 Diana Bolger (98); Men: 1 Les Bradley (112), 2 Marcus Ramsay. Veterans walking race: 1 Melanie Dutton, 2 John Bolger.
