BAD weather across the county has forced A roads to close.
While heavy rain is battering lower levels in Cumbria, snow has caused road closures on higher grounds.
Cumbria Roads Police have advised motorists to steer clear of closed roads, urging them not to ignore the signs.
The Kirkstone Pass, A592, has been closed due to snow between Troutbeck and Hartsop.
Heavy snow continues to fall in the area and police have advised that there has already been at least one incident on the stretch.
The A591 at Dunmail Raise is closed along with the A6 at Shap.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Roads Police said: "Officers out working hard with Mountain Rescue, Fire & Ambulance."
