OFFICERS have issued a warning to people in the Furness area following the theft of tools from a shed.

Cumbria police has urged people in Kirkby in Furness to to check garages, outhouses and stores are secure at all times.

It comes in the wake of gardening tools, including a chain saw and hedge cutters, being stolen from a garden shed.

This is believed to have happened over a three week period.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Do not leave any tools or equipment on display which could be used to gain access to your property."
