MORE than 200 NHS doctors, nurses, chefs and office staff across Cumbria are backing a campaign to encourage staff to introduce themselves to patients by name.
The #Hellomynameis campaign on social media website Twitter was launched by terminally ill cancer patient and doctor Kate Granger, of Yorkshire.
Claire Molloy, chief executive at Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It’s wonderful that so many of our staff have embraced this campaign. It highlights the fundamental importance of staff introducing themselves to patients.
"It can be easy in the incredibly busy world we live in to forget something so small, but by introducing ourselves patients can feel more human, more important and less frightened."
