KENDAL Torchlight is set to go ahead after a last minute bid to find vital volunteers was successful.
In late January organisers said the event would be cancelled if eight volunteers were not found.
A deadline was set for today and organisers this morning said: "The response to the media campaign to save Torchlight has been fantastic and there are now sufficient volunteers in all key roles to allow us to continue.
"We would liked to thank everyone who has offered to volunteer in a key role and we look forward to working with you to build on the success of Torchlight in the past and to make it even better. Thank you all for stepping up and joining the team.
"We would also like to thank those who helped spread the word and allow us to reach as much of the people in the area as possible."
Torchlight takes place on September 11.
