MAJOR resurfacing works costing £90,000 are set to start on Blackhall Road, Kendal, on Saturday (March 7), lasting for approximately ten days.
It will involve Cumbria County Council contractors replacing a worn-out section of road between the junctions at New Road and Sandes Avenue with a brand new surface.
Work will take place between 6pm and midnight in order to keep disruption to a minimum and a temporary one-way order allowing northbound traffic only on Blackhall Road will operate. An alternative route for southbound vehicles will be available via Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Wildman Street, Stramongate and New Road. The resurfacing is scheduled to take place on Sunday March 8 and 15 with the road closed to traffic.
