KENDAL Town Council has agreed to award a grant of £1,000 to the Brewery Arts Centre in support of an intergenerational project helping Kendal become a more age-friendly town.
The scheme, based on the Hallgarth estate, will see both young and older people restore a bench over four sessions, sharing stories and experiences as they work.
Other grants approved by the council at its meeting on Monday included £2,500 towards replacing UV filtering mechanisms at Sandgate Hydrotherapy Pool.
Councillors also agreed a one-off grant of £1,000 to Kendal Concert Band towards paying for a music director, and £150 for Kendal & District Lions Club to help cover the cost of running an Easter event on Kendal Castle.
