POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a shop window was smashed in a seemingly random act of vandalism in Ambleside.
Both front windows of Lily Lou's florist on St Mary's Lane, Ambleside, between 9pm and 9.40pm on Sunday, March 22.
Around the same time, a couple also reported having things thrown at their house.
Joanne Dann, owner of Lily Lou's, said: "People think it might have been done using bottles.
"Even if it was just someone being silly it's about the repercussions that follow.
"I should be off work today but I've had to go in to sort that out.
"We'll have to get the window replaced and all the stock replaced because it was covered in glass."
