A MAN was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a HGV as he walked down the A65 at Crooklands.
The 56-year-old gentleman, from Levens, managed to escape with minor injuries after coming into contact with the truck at around 3.30pm on Sunday, March 22.
Paramedics, police and a team from the North West Air Ambulance attended and the man was flown to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
After initially being diagnosed as having 'serious injuries', the casualty was downgraded to having 'slight injuries' and is set to make a full recovery.
