SEVENTY years after VE Day, Carnforth townsfolk are to give thanks during a special service in the War Memorial Gardens.
The thanksgiving event on May 8 is to feature recorded songs from the Second World War and refreshments by the Salvation Army.
Costs for orders of service, music, a wreath and advertising banners were discussed by the town council's finance committee. The total bill of £535 is to be recommended to the town council.
