TWO plots of former Lake District National Park land have been sold-off, but the National Park Authority are not revealing who the buyers are.

The sales of a 2.4acre plot at Lady Wood, White Moss, Grasmere, and a 0.64acre site at Portinscale, Keswick, have both been completed.

It is not yet known who the buyers are or how much they paid for the plots, but the National Park have confirmed that they went for more than the collective £35,000 guide price.

A statement from the National Park said: "The Lake District National Park has now completed the sale of two properties at Long Bridge, Portinscale, and Lady Wood, White Moss.

"Both have been sold to private individuals.

"Following discussions with the two purchasers we have agreed not to release the names of the individual new owners.

"The new owners have provided significant evidence to satisfy us that they will care for the land in a sympathetic manner and will continue to provide access for the enjoyment of the wider public."

When asked where the money raised from the sales will be spent, a spokesperson for the Lake District National Park said: "The proceeds from the sales will go into the capital assets programme and will be reinvested back into maintaining or improving other LDNP properties.
