AROUND 250 people enjoyed the sights and smells at the 23rd annual Rusland Valley Spring Show this weekend.
Held in the Rusland Rooms and inside a large marquee, there were classes for spring bulbs, cut flowers, floral art, home produce, poems, photos,
limericks, painting and crafts.
The Thelma Kellgreen trophy was won by Sarah Shaw, Rosie Watson and Polly Jackson, all pupils at Leven Valley primary school, while Jean Woodhouse, of Cark-in-Cartmel, won the trophy for gaining the most points throughout the show.
Gordon Wilkinson, of Rusland, who is the main organiser of the show, said: "Everyone who comes each year says what a lovely community spirit we have here. It's nice when the event is a success because it feels like all the hard work has paid off.
"Everyone is very supportive."
