THE Prime Minister yesterday rounded on the Opposition when he was
pressed over charges that the Government planned to tax invalidity
benefit. Mr Major told Labour MP John Battle: ''You should stop
scrabbling amongst newspapers and wait for the details of the Autumn
Statement in due course. When it comes, you might also comment on the
very substantial real terms reduction the last Labour Government had in
many social benefits.''
