A DESCENDANT of William Wordsworth recited one of the poet's most recognisable pieces of work on its 200th anniversary.
At Rydal Mount on Tuesday, Christopher Wordsworth spoke the famous lines of 'Daffodils' which was published two centuries ago by his great great great great grandfather.
"If you were reading it for the first time it would still fill you with a lot of excitement," said Christopher.
Christopher visited the house - where William lived for most of his life and which is still owned by the Wordsworth family - to present the prizes for the Wordsworth Young Poet award.
Entries were received from schools all over Cumbria and the winning poem by Jessica Dickinson, from Keswick School, was hung on the wall in the sitting room at Rydal Mount.
Her name was also added to a plaque which hangs there.
