This wonderful photograph of a leaping deer was captured by reader Sarah Beddows, of Poulton-le-Fylde, who was walking on the fells behind Sawrey.
"The whole herd came past - it was truly spectacular," she said. "The herd was maybe as many as 30, including the stag. I was walking with my sister Sue, about a mile behind the Cuckoo Brow Inn, when we heard the thundering of the hooves. Keeping very still I slowly took the camera out, hoping for a good shot.
"The deer clearly wanted to pass through the gate beside us, maybe to water at the small tarn in front of us but decided on the safer option, clearing the wall up hill from us, allowing me to capture that shot."
