PAST Carnforth Carnival queens Bev Boak and Karen Smith have bestowed their sashes on the new generation of royalty.
Getting into the spirit of this year's carnival revival are attendant Harvey Antonsen-Mclachlan, eight; princess Charlotte Smith, nine; queen Lysie Smith, 13; princess Jenta Walker, eight; and rosebud Miley Fairgrieve, three.
The carnival is to take place on Saturday, July 4, and chairman Andrea Smith said that organisers were confident they would achieve their fundraising target.
Concerns had been expressed at Carnforth Town Council that funding for the event might fall short, but Andrea told the Gazette that everything was "going to plan".
Forthcoming events include Easter bingo and an egg hunt, Carnforth's Got Talent, a dog show and an auction of promises. To find out more, visit www.carnforthcarnival.co.uk or Facebook.
Meanwhile, anybody who would like to enter a decorated float or volunteer as a marshall can find the details online or contact Andrea on 07799-108360.
