A 65-year-old woman with a 'substantial' leg injury was taken to safety by a multi-force rescue team.

Kendal Mountain Rescue Team responded to a report that a female had slipped on a path near Bob's Cafe in Arnside at 2.30pm on Thursday, April 9.

Crews from Bay Rescue and Arnside Coastguard also attended following reports of one person immersed in water, although that proved to be unfounded.

It is believed the woman, from the Lancaster area, suffered a badly dislocated and possibly broken ankle.
