FIREFIGHTERS were called to a car stranded on the sands during high tide at Warton today (Monday).
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service received a call from the police at 12.25pm saying a car was stuck in the sands on Shore Road.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Two people were in the car unable to get out and the tidal water was rising fast.

“But when firefighters arrived at the scene the occupants of the car had got out and had made their way onto dry land. The services of the fire crews were not required.”
