THIS General Election is set to be one of the closest-fought for years - and you can follow all the excitement of tomorrow's count on our website www.thewestmorlandgazette.co.uk.

We will have reporters and photographers at the local counts to keep you fully informed as events unfold.

We will be at Kendal Leisure Centre, where votes will be counted for the Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency; at Barrow Town Hall for the Barrow and Furness count; at Salt Ayre sports centre for Morecambe and Lunesdale; and at Penrith Leisure Centre, where the Penrith and the Border result will be announced.

We will also be bringing you breaking news as the votes are counted in the 17 seats being contested on South Lakeland District Council.

There will be a live blog on our website from tomorrow morning, where you will be able to follow events minute by minutes as they unfold. Reporters will capture the atmosphere at the counts and talk to candidates as they wait anxiously for the results and give their reactions afterwards. Gazette cartoonist Colin Shelbourn will also be blogging live from the count.

There will be breaking stories on the website as results are announced. And you can also follow us on Twitter @gazettenewsdesk, on Facebook by searching for The Westmorland Gazette and you can get involved in the debate on Twitter using the hashtag #WGelection

Next week's Westmorland Gazette will feature comprehensive coverage of the counts with all the results in detail. And we will be talking to the successful candidates to find out how they might fit in to the new Government.
