A PARAGLIDER has been taken to hospital after crashing in the Lake District.
Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team were called after a witness reported seeing the man, believed to be in his 40s and from Preston, crash to the ground near Tarn Crag, north west of Elterwater, at around 11am today (Friday).
The Great North Air Ambulance Service's The Pride Of Cumbria based at Langwathby near Penrith flew to the scene.
The pilot was treated by LAMRT and air ambulance paramedics before a RAF Sea King helicopter evacuated the patient.
He was then flown by GNAAS to Royal Preston Hospital.
His injuries were described as 'life-threatening' by the GNAAS.
