A PENSIONER has died after his car left the road and collided with a tree this morning (Sunday).
The 75-year-old man, who was driving a silver Ford Fiesta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened at around 2.20am between junctions 33 (Lancaster) and 32 (Preston) of the M6.
Sgt Claire Pearson of the Road Policing Unit said: “We are trying to establish how this collision occurred and I would ask anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Fiesta on the hard shoulder to contact us.”
