HOUSEBUILDER Russell Armer Ltd and NHS Property Services Ltd have drawn up a scheme to develop the Department of Health buildings that are currently for sale at Tenterfield, at the bottom of Brigsteer Road, Kendal.
A planning application lodged with South Lakeland District Council proposes part demolition of the existing buildings and refurbishment of a retained 'historical' structure to create seven apartments and three houses.
Eight new detached and semi-detached homes would be constructed on the existing large area of 'impervious' car parking space in the centre of the site. These homes would have private gardens, garages, parking spaces and shared access.
The proposal also includes additional parking provision for the residents of the apartments.
