Walker airlifted to hospital after fracturing ankle at Greenup Edge, Grasmere
A LONE male walker was airlifted to hospital after suffering a ‘nasty’ ankle fracture at Greenup Edge in Grasmere.
Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 2.45pm yesterday (Tuesday).
A team spokesperson said: “He was located with a little difficulty, having given a misleading grid reference and location.”

The man was treated at the scene by team members and then evacuated by air ambulance.
