PRESSURE is mounting on United Utilities (UU) to fix the ‘unhygienic and unsafe’ problem in Burneside of raw sewage flowing in to a village street during heavy rainfall.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has written to UU’s chief executive as the company prepares to embark on its next spending plan.
“I have said that now is an opportunity to fix this long running problem, which is deeply unhygienic and unsafe,” said Mr Farron.
