WORK to reduce flooding incidents along a section of the A66 east of Keswick in Cumbria will get underway next week.
The £31,000 Highways England repairs just east of Briery Interchange with the A591 will focus on replacing damaged pipes and filters in the verge of the westbound carriageway.
Highways England project manager Peter Gee said: “These are routine wear and tear repairs to reduce flooding incidents along this section of the A66 and give drivers safer and more reliable journeys.”

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at off-peak times between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day for the duration of the work between Monday (1 June) and Sunday 13 June. To prevent needless queuing and minimise inconvenience to road users the lights will be staffed.
On occasion, the lights will need to be in place around the clock - with staff in place at peak times to minimise queuing. Drivers should allow an extra ten minutes for journeys.
A 40mph speed limit past the road works will also be in place.
