SCHOOLCHILDREN from Hawkshead have officially opened the village's revamped Co-operative food store.
Pupils at Hawkshead Esthwaite Primary School joined children from the village's pre-school to perform the ceremony following a £300,000 investment in the Main Street branch.
The shop has been re-defined with a new in-store bakery range, and a focus on fresh, healthy foods and essentials.
And one member of staff will be a 'community pioneer', working to foster involvement in community activities, from local fundraising initiatives to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs.
