AN injured dog was retrieved from Scafell Pike by mountain rescuers after being found by a member of the public.
Wasdale Mountan Rescue team was called out to save the animal, near Mickledore stretcher box, at around 4.45pm on Thursday.
A team spokesperson said: “A team member who was on the fell was soon on scene and a small team was dispatched to bring the dog down.

“Fortunately it was well behaved and able to be carried down in a rucksack and re-united with its owners.”
