AN 18-year-old girl was rescued after slipping and falling into Aira Force Beck earlier today (Monday).
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called by the North West Ambulance Service to help rescue the girl, who was part of a group of 100 teenage girls from Gateshead.
The teenager, who had fallen about two metres into the beck, was treated by a paramedic and then carried by the Team to an ambulance for onward transfer to hospital.

Patterdale MRT have issued a plea to any organised group to make sure they are properly equipped to undertake their planned activity.
A team spokesperson said: “The weather forecast on the day was poor, with strong winds and heavy rain forecast. It is appropriate, in these conditions, to have warm clothing, waterproofs and suitable footwear.”
The Team also thanked two members of the public who were passing at the time and offered assistance to the girls, saying, “Their prompt actions helped prevent the possibility of any further injuries.”
