A SOUTH Lakes charity is hoping to run, walk or bike all over cancer as it prepares to host the tenth annual Cross Bay Challenge.

CancerCare, based in Kendal, is urging people to sign up to one of three events as part of a challenge which has raised more than quarter of a million pounds over the past decade.

This year entrants can either run a half marathon across the sands, take part in a family friendly seven mile walk or cycle across the sands on a 'fat bike' - a cycle with extra-wide tyres.

Jane Staniford, CancerCare Fundraiser and Cross Bay event organiser, said: "We are so excited to celebrate ten years of our Cross Bay Challenge and the addition of Fat Biking to our line-up is fantastic.

The Cross Bay Half Marathon will start and finish at the Flookburgh foreshore on Sunday, June 28. An experienced guide will lead the seven-mile family friendly circular walk towards Ulverston and Cowpren Point and Chapel Island.

Entry for all challenges is available online at www.cancercare.org.uk.

Places for the Cross Bay Fat Bike challenge are strictly limited and entrants must bring their own Fat Bike.
