A SOUTH Cumbria hospital chef has been handed a trophy for his top leadership skills.

Andy Bickle, head chef at Furness General Hospital, Barrow, was named Best Supervisor and Team Leader of the Year 2015 at the Health Caterers Association North West Catering Awards.

Despite narrowly missing out in the Best Chef category as runner up, Mr Bickle was recognised as being someone who leads by example, sets high standards, motivates a team and strives for and delivers excellence.

FGH hotel services manager Tracy Litt was shortlisted for The Sandra Heyes Memorial Award which is awarded to a person who has made a significant contribution to excellence in NHS catering.
