A DISORIENTATED couple had to be rescued after getting lost at night on the Coniston fells.
Twelve members of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team and a search dog were involved in the search for two walkers who got into difficulty early on Sunday evening (June 21).
The couple, a man in his 30’s and a woman in her 20’s, had ascended the Old Man of Coniston and got lost on their descent during inclement weather.
They were found at around 20:35 between Goats Hawse and Seathwaite Tarn in the Duddon Valley and were cold and wet but uninjured.
