TWO South Lakeland schools - Beetham C of E Primary and Grange C of E Primary - are among six in the county to receive special awards from the Bishop of Carlisle in recognition of the "strong partnerships" each has forged in the local community.
It is the third year of the awards which recognise ongoing work in the development of Christian clubs in the schools to help create closer working ties with churches. Pupils and club leaders from all six winning schools had afternoon tea with the Rt Rev James Newcome, Bishop of Carlisle, and members of staff from the Diocesan Board of Education at the Bishop Bulley Barn, Rydal Hall, on Tuesday (June 30).
